Since we're starting the blog when Kalyn is just shy of four months old, we're obviously a little behind on the milestone updates! Kalyn will be four months in just over one week. Never would I have thought that four months could fly by so fast!
Kalyn has already mastered holding her head up while you're holding her, sleeping through the night (on most occasions), her very first smile and her first try with cereal. Our biggest milestone we're working on right now is helping Kalyn hold her head up during "tummy time", her first giggle and actually keeping the cereal we feed her, in her mouth, rather than all over her face!
She isn't a big fan of the tummy time (although, getting much better) and hates cereal! During our first try with cereal, we also hit another first-her very first real tear.
The many smiles, tears and laughs of being parents for the very first time

Novice Blogger, Novice Parents
Although I've always been skeptical about blogging, I thought to give the whole novice blogger a shot. What's a better way of sharing new memories of a new, growing family? This day in age, with Twitter, Facebook, and E-Mail-I was hoping to turn this into a "digital baby book"-something to share with our daughter, family members and friends about the growth of our little family, milestones of our first born and just filling the rest in with some bragging rights of, who is in our eyes, the cutest little girl on the planet. :)
To give a little background on the Thompson family; our family began as the three of us; Nic and I and our cat (with bad joints-yes, a cat can have bad joints), Lilly. The three of us were happy as a little family, then a wedding and a year and a half later, our family grew to four. Our newest addition (and Nic's right-hand man at the golf course) is our lab/chow mix, Jack.
And as of June 6, 2010, our life as we knew it had changed forever...for the better of course! The double pink lines were a shock to say the least...but it was the indication that we would be adding yet another member to our family! Thirty-eight weeks and sixteen and a half hours later, our little bundle of joy-Kalyn-finally made us a Party of Five. We're now the "typical" family of five, minus the white picket fence.
I decided to start this blog, as I said before,in hopes of something to share with Kalyn when she's older, as well as sharing these memories with family and friends. This "baby book" will share all of Kalyn's milestones, and give everyone a good laugh of all the tough times and great times Nic and I are about to embark on as first time parents!
